About this conversion
GIF is a classic format for short animations and simple graphics, widely supported but limited to a 256-color palette per frame. JPEG uses light compression, so the result won't be a pixel-for-pixel copy of the GIF, and because JPEG can't store transparency, any transparent areas are filled with a solid colour (white by default).

Will converting to JPEG reduce quality?
JPEG uses light compression that makes a small change to pixel values. At the default quality setting the difference is usually invisible, but it is not pixel-for-pixel identical to the original. You can raise the quality slider to reduce the change, at the cost of a larger file.
Will I lose the transparent background?
Yes. JPEG has no support for transparency. Any transparent areas in your GIF image will be filled with a solid colour (white by default) during conversion.
Also consider: If file size matters, consider AVIF (works in all current browsers) or JPEG XL (lacks widespread support) — both achieve noticeably smaller files at the same quality.
