About this conversion
TIFF is a professional format common in scanning, printing, and archiving; it preserves every pixel exactly, which makes it the standard choice for masters and print workflows. Converting to WebP makes the image openable in all current browsers. WebP uses light compression, so the result won't be a pixel-for-pixel copy of the TIFF.
Common questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Will converting to WebP reduce quality?
WebP uses light compression that makes a small change to pixel values. At the default quality setting the difference is usually invisible, but it is not pixel-for-pixel identical to the original. You can raise the quality slider to reduce the change, at the cost of a larger file.
Also consider: For even smaller files, AVIF compresses further than WebP and works in all current browsers — encoding is slower, but the quality-to-size ratio is better.
